People ask me all the time, "How did Absolute Fence get started?" It's humbling to hear that question because, I didn't really do anything. I was just working, and the doors kept opening. So, to answer, Jesus Christ started Absolute Fence, and I'm blessed to run it. Honestly, though I was diligent with little. I did small tasks with excellence and didn’t focus on the uncontrollables.
In May 2002, I was paying my way through college and took a summer job with a small fence company where I set posts on my first-ever vinyl fence. Not long into the position, I was put in charge of operations, which opened up an opportunity to become my own contractor. With that step, Absolute Fence was born, and it's incredible to see how far God has taken us since.
I know that may sound sappy and all but don’t let it fool you. Being a college wrestler, captain and a 2-time national qualifier I understand excellence, hard work and what it takes to be number one. Circumstances in life help shape us. Honestly, I never wanted to own a fence company. I wanted to teach and coach wrestling. I wanted to build champions. Well, funny how things worked out.
My heart is for God, building leaders and stewarding well. I’ve taken all my experiences, training and pursuit of excellence and poured it into Absolute Fence. Let’s be real: building fences isn’t glamorous. The ground is unforgiving and the work is back breaking, But, since we focus on personal growth, customer experience and being the best fence company, the work seems to turn into something we all love to do. We are craftsmen!
Through this journey, my wonderful bride, Ericka, and I have grown together and learned that thanksgiving and joyful praises pave the way for blessings. And that's the core of Absolute Fence's story: Jesus is in charge and we rise leaders who happen to install really good fences
